Under the encouragement of my cousin, I then decided to update my blog today. He says that my Chinese New Year 'angbaos' will be gone if I did not update. Well, its been a long month for me working at school and learning a skill which might be useful for me in the near future. Working in school can actually be fun and at the same time it can be stressful for me. Working in school as a printing boy inside the printing room, I have actually gained the experience in printing things for the teachers and staffs of my school. There are always different things to learn when we are in different environment. I usually start my daily routine of work by taking a bus to school and then proceed to the printing room to start-up the printers. After which I would go to the staff room to collect the printing orders from the teachers. Once I have collected the printing orders from the teachers, I would proceed back to the printing room to print out their orders. Then, once I have printed their orders, I will placed it in a cupboard inside the printing room for the teachers to collect it themselves. Upon collection, the teachers would usually say a word of thanks. Well, I think that these words of thanks or these words of appreciation would spurred me on to help the teachers to print their orders everyday. This is the reason why we should say a word of thanks to the sales-persons or front desks receptionists in any place be it shopping centres or workplaces. It would be very much appreciated by them.

Let me divert you back to the topic on my printing job. Once a considerable amount of printing has been done and the teachers did not collect their printing orders from the cupboard, I would usually deliver their printing orders to them personally and a word of thanks would be said again. This is my daily working life in school. There seems to be a pattern which I discovered while printing for the school. On every Monday, which is the start of the week, the teachers would usually have a lot of printing orders for me to print. As the days go by, the printing orders will be lesser and lesser until the end of the week. My assumption to this ideology is that the teachers would prepare their work in advance and let my print their work in advance so that the worksheets which the teachers wanted the students to do the worksheets in that week or the following week would be ready. In this way, there would not be any delay in issuing the students their worksheets or test papers. Well, this job has actually let me experience a taste of how the working adults work in the real world and earn their hard-earned money. So in future, we should not take things for granted. I would also like to say a word of thanks to Param and Chee How for heping me out when I was working or else I would not be able to cope with my printing job. Thanks guys. Other than working in school, we sometimes are being ask upon by teachers to help them out with their work by going into classes for self-study to relief the teachers. Well, I think Param, Chee How and I have fun relieving classes. The three of us also went back to school to help out with our own CCAs. I think that this is all for us in school.

Now, let me move on to Chinese New Year. On the eve of Chinese New Year, I went to school to work for half-a-day from 8 in the morning until about 1 in the afternoon. Then I went out with Param for lunch and thereafter, I went back home to prepare for the New Year. The next day, which is the actual Chinese New Year or the first day of Chinese New Year, I went to visit my paternal grandparents (father side) in the morning and stay till the afternoon. Then went to visit my grand-aunt who is the sister of my maternal grandmother (mother side) and then lastly I went to my maternal grandmother house and have dinner with my relatives. On the second day of Chinese New Year, my second aunt from my paternal side visited us at home in the morning. Then after exchanging oranges and well-wishes, we then went to my first aunt house who is also from my paternal side. After visiting my first aunt house, I went to visit my second uncle who is also from my paternal side. Well, wondering why I am visiting so many people from my paternal side? Its has been always the case. Every year on the second day of Chinese New Year, my relative from my paternal side would always organise programs for all of us to visit one another so that we can enhance our parental side's family bonding. This is the reason why am I visiting all my paternal side relatives. Now lets move on to the third day of Chinese New Year. On the third day of Chinese New Year, I went to my second aunt house from my maternal side for a pot luck event. Well, it was quite an eventful day as there are a lot things to eat. That is all for my Chinese New Year.

18th February 2008, Monday (My Birthday):
Ok, now lets move on to my birthday on the 18th of February, Monday. On Monday, I went to work as it was my last day of work. After work, Jun Feng, Chee How and I went to buy the birthday cakes for me and Yu Ting aka Ting Ting. After which, Jun Feng went to buy the materials for our birthday bash. Well, I knew that he would try to sabotage us on our birthdays as it was once in a year so I went to bring an extra set of clothes. He does all the planning with the rest of the people who are helping to celebrate our birthdays. Then it finally came. The sabotaging hour. There were many people helping us to celebrate our birthdays. There was Klinton, Joyce, Valencia, Pei En, Kai Yuan, Yong Shun, Mariyya, Navin and Jun Feng. I think there were still other people down there but I could not remember their names. So sorry, please forgive me. Jun Feng then gave Yu Ting and I one minute to gulp down one 1.5L bottle of Sprite. I drank it first then followed by Yu Ting. Then second time I drank it, I threw up the soft drink as some of it has entered my nose and make a mess at the basketball court foyer. Then our time is up and Jun Feng ordered Klinton to pour the remaining bottle of soft drink at us. And down the soft drink go on our heads to our bodies. The aftermath was that we were both very sticky. At least it was better than last year. During last year's birthday party, Yu Ting and I got to do pumping and use our mouth to go pick up polo sweets from a box full of flour. After the pumping session, both of our faces got covered with flour. Well, we were quite lucky this year. Back to the point, after we got poured with Sprite, we went to cut our cakes. Then Klinton came up with this idea of sabotaging us. He wanted us to use our mouths to pick up the candles which we had just blown out. Then Yu Ting and I do not have a choice and we did as what we are told to do. After that it was distributing of cakes and some presents. When everything was finally over, we both went for NPCC and continue with our campcraft training for our competition. In my opinion, I felt that every year on my birthday when I am older by one year, I am closer to death by one year. This is my opinion and you need not agree with my ideology. That is all for Monday.

20th February 2008, Wednesday:
Today is the usual campcraft training for our campcraft competition on Saturday. Well, I can say that today is quite a good day for me and the cadets as most of the campcraft team members are present. It was very unusual as I would have expected the normal few people to come to train for the competition, but today, even the reserves came. Well, it is the normal training on flag staff, shelter and gadget to train up for the competition. After our campcraft session ended at 7pm, our OC treat everyone to a chicken rice dinner. Everyone ate our dinner until it was 7.30pm and then we left for our home. That is all for Wednesday.

21st February 2008, Thursday:
Today campcraft training was the same as the day before. However, today the both campcraft team's morale was very low. It was like after it had risen to the peak of its morale yesterday, today the morale of both campcraft teams has hit the rock-bottom of the ocean. Everyone was waiting for one another to come so that they can start the practice session. The Cadet Leaders was playing with Carom and the rest of the cadets are waiting for the Cadet Leaders. Since the Cadets Leaders are waiting for the rest of their squad mates, I decided to take the cadets for their campcraft session. I asked them to do their own component for the competition without timing given as I wanted to let the cadets know where is their mistakes when they are doing for each of their own component. Halfway during the training session, my blur god-sister Soh Yu Ting try to hammer a peg into the ground. However, instead of hammering the peg, she went to hammer her hand. Her index finger was was being hammered by the mallet. I then attend to her and sent her to Jun Feng for treatment. She have to wrapped her finger under a medical ice-pack to allow her fingers to be numbed. Then Jun Feng and I went to wrapped the ice pack on her hand and she was screaming and shouting that it was very cold. After her treatment, she went back to continue with the campcraft session. Then, as there are only some of the campcraft team members who come for the training, Joshua and I decided to end the training. We then hold a discussion session with all of the campcraft team members and Cadet Leaders. Kai Yuan and Yong Shun who had just returned from HTA also joined in the discussion. After the discussion session has ended, Yu Ting, Ching Loong, Nicholas, Param and I went to KFC to eat our dinner. That is all for Thursday.

22nd February 2008, Friday:
Today was our unit official training day. At around 1.10pm, the Secondary Two and Secondary Three cadets boarded a bus to go to the Road Safety Park at East Coast Park for their Marshall duties. After seeing them off, I began to prepare myself for my official training which would be starting at 2.30pm. The new Secondary One cadets are here and I have to teach them the basic drills. After the basic drills session, the Secondary One cadets had their ice-breaking games. Then, the Secondary Two and Secondary Three cadets came back from the Road Safety Park. I then take the Secondary Three cadets for a basic drill session and followed by a Rifle Drill session. Faizzul took the Secondary Two cadets for a basic drill session. Our NPCC rifles also got a new face lift today. The logistic department went to spray paint all the rifles today as we have to prepare ourselves for the upcoming Speech Day Marching Parade. The rifles also got their new serial numbers like those in the HTA. After the training ended today, I went to dinner with Nicholas, Pei Ling, Yu Ting, Ching Loong, Hiang Teck. That is all for Friday.

Now, I have done my updating for this month. I know its quite late but stay tuned for more updates. I am worried about the campcraft competition for Saturday. Really hope the Boys Team would be well-prepared for the campcraft competition. That is all for my grandfather/grandmother stories today. I am closing shop already so take care and wish you all have a wonderful day ahead. Good Bye.

New Year, New Beginnings

Hi everyone, I know that my blog has been inactive or rather dead for a month. Well, the reason is simple. First of all, I do not have the time to update my blog cause of the commitment to my NPCC. The second reason is because I have been helping out in school with the Discipline and the Detention Class (DC) after school. For the commitments to the NPCC, I have been going back to school to help out with the Secondary One CCA Orientation performances and going to HTA for the NPCC Annual Parade (NPAP) trainers selection.

Let me first talk about my NPCC commitments. Almost every week I went back on Fridays to help out with the trainings on the Secondary One CCA Orientation performances. My Yuhua NPCC Unit will be doing four items for the Secondary One CCA Orientation. First up will be a fashion display on the different types of attire we NPCC used during our training. The different attires are Full-Uniform, Half-Uniform, Mufti and PT-Kit. The second performance item is the fancy baton drill which is being done by the Secondary Three cadets. The third performance item is the fancy rifle drill which is being done by the Secondary Four Cadet Leaders (CLs). The fourth and the final performance item is the grand finale which is being done by all the NPCC cadets. It has the Secondary Three cadets holding shields which are hand-made. It is to represent our affiliation with the SPF under the Special Operation Command (SOC). Well, overall, the orientation was a success. For the photos of the Secondary One CCA Orientation, you all can got to Yu Ting or Pei Ling's blog to see.

Now let's talk about the NPCC Annual Parade (NPAP). I have to go to HTA for the NPAP trainers selection for the parade. There are nine roles which we CIs can opt for and go for the training to get selected in the roles which we choose. There are nine options and we have to number them in order. Here are the nine roles. There is Parade Commander, Guard-Of-Honour (GOH) Contingent Commander, Supporting Contingent Commander, Ceremonial Flag Party, Gold Unit Flag Party Commander, Mass Flag Party Commander, CI-In-Attendance, Turn-Out Guard and Parade Trainer. This is how I ranked my choice.
1) Ceremonial Flag Party
2) Gold Unit Flag Party Commander
3) Mass Flag Party Commander
4) Parade Trainer
5) Turn-Out-Guard
6) CI-In-Attendance
7) Supporting Contingent Commander
8) Guard-Of-Honour (GOH) Contingent Commander
9) Parade Commander
So, the Honorary Officers (HOs) and the Field Instructors (FIs) will allow us to be in the choice which we choose in our first choice. Then they test us on the drills relating to the choice we choose form. After that they analyse our mistakes and tell us so that we can improve on the drills. That is how the selection goes about. It was from morning 8am to in the afternoon about 12pm. After the selection, I felt that I do not know some of the Flag Party drills as it was my first time doing it. So I have decide to join in the Transport/Logistics Sub Committee which is headed by Ma'am Salmi. I have gathered some of my squad mates to join me and we will have a briefing on Friday, 25th Jan 2008 on what to do. So that is all for NPCC Commitments.

Lets move on to why I went back to school. Well, actually I still have feelings for this school. Therefore Param and I have decided to go back to school to help shape the school's discipline into a better one. We have been helping out with the school discipline daily by taking the Detention Class (DC) and helping teachers to run errands whenever we can. I have also got myself a part-time job in the school and I will be helping out during the Chinese New Year period. That is all for school commitments.

For today, the 23th Jan 2008, Wednesday, I went back to help out with my NPCC Unit for their campcraft competition which is coming up. It will be held on the next month. Well, I can see that they have the passion and drive to do well in the competition but because of the remedial and self-study programmes which the school has planned for them, they would have lesser time for the campcraft competition practice which Joshua and I have plan out for them. I hope that the cadets and the Cadet Leaders (CLs) treasure every little time that we have left for practice as both of us might not be going back to help them for their competition training. We have to help out in the NPCC Annual Parade (NPAP) back at HTA every Friday which clashes with our training. Well, there are a lot of improvements which the campcraft team has made. For the flagstaff for the boys, they have achieve a timing of 2 minutes and 57 seconds for erecting their flagstaff and for the girls team, even though it was their first time, they have achieve a timing of 8 minutes and 14 seconds. I hope that the girls team can be as good as the boys team. For the gadget and the shelter, I hope to see a decent timing for you all. Believe in yourselves and tell yourselves that you can do it. I hope that you all would not disappoint me with those ridiculous timing when i am going back for the next training. Wish you all, all the best for your campcraft competition too. Hope that you all can attained at least below the 100th mark for the school.

It is now the next morning, 24th Jan 2008, Thursday. In a few more hours, I will be getting back my GCE O' Levels Results back. Well, What can I say? Hmm...I hope I will be able to make it to a Polytechnic. I know I did not put in enough effort during my examinations but what's done cannot be undone, I cannot cry over spilt milk as I cannot recover the spilt milk. Hope God will bless me and my soul. Good Luck and All The Best to those who are taking back their results tomorrow including me. That all for now folks. Take care and Bye Bye.

Poem:
In the dark, where the light is being blinded by darkness
Orbs of guilt surrounded me
Many regrets which cannot be undone
Many grievances which cannot be resolve
Oh Almighty Lord
Give me the strength to break through all these sorrows
Light up the path before me
And guide me on.

Hope God will help me tide over the sorrows of my O' Levels results.
This poem is copyrighted by Terence. Well, the day after Christmas is Boxing Day and the day before Christmas is Christmas Eve. On Boxing Day, it is the day where people who celebrate Christmas would open their presents which is in boxes and therefore the name Boxing Day is given on the 26th of December. This is a little extra information about Christmas and by the way, Boxing Day does not mean that you all will go around "boxing" people. Some people might think otherwise. Well, never mind. I know that I have not being blogging for the past 3 weeks. This is because of my CI course at HTA and at Pulau Ubin. It has been a tiring, fun-filled, enjoyable course. I shall post about my CI course in the next post. That depends on whether I have the time anot.

Now, what are the Christmas wishes which people would wished for? Well, some of the common ones like handphones, PDAs, new apparels, a brand new computer etc. Hope that in this Christmas, may all your wishes come true and that everything would go smooth sailing for you. In this Christmas, the things that I wish for is World Peace; people around the world would put down their arms and come together for a consensus, No Climate Change; people would realised about the hazardous effect of climate change and do something about it before it is too late and To Treasure Your Loved Ones Around You; try not to have conflicts with your family members and treasure them like you have never done before.

I shall now end here. I will update my post on my CI course on the next few entries. For now, take care of yourselves as the school term is opening and I shall bade my goodbye here & take my leave. Goodbye and have a wonderful Christmas.

Its a tiring week

It was a tiring week for me this week. Lots of things happening for me this week and ...Yes I am still going back to my NPCC unit to help them out. Well, I guess that is the life of a Cadet Inspector (CI). We are bonded to our Secondary School for life, but that is fun and challenging. I went to visit the Parent's Seminar at Ngee Ann Polytechnic last Saturday on 23rd of November with my cousin. We both visited the Engineering Faculty. I am interested in the Engineering Courses offered at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and I am making a decision whether to choose the Mechanical Engineering Courses or the Electronic & Computer Engineering Courses. If I cannot make a choice between the two courses then I think I will sign take the course on Engineering Common Programme on Year One. Below are the activities that I attended to this week.

28th of December:

I went back for NPCC training as my ma'am wanted to see the Secondary 2 and 3 for their Secondary One Orientation performances. When I went back, my ma'am carry out discussions with my NCOs and cadets. Then Mr Noor came to tell me that the Science Department went to throw away most of their broken wooden chairs in the science laboratory, so he asked me to asked my cadets to help me transport those wooden chairs to my prefects room as we need the firewood for our prefects camp's campfire. Since Faizzul and I, both Sirs in NPCC got nothing to do so we went to transport the firewood from NPCC room to Prefects room. Here is the process. Before that Nicholas, Klinton, Peiling, Felicia and some cadets have already push the big green dust bin from the big bin collection centre to our NPCC room. Thanks for your help. After that Faizzul and I went to dismantled the chairs and slowly transported the pieces of wood to the Prefects room. Then Pei Ling and Hema wanted to help us with the firewood. In the end, after Faizzul and I transported the firewood to the Prefects room and when we returned, Pei Ling and Hema was just sitting around. It is always the case. After we transported all the firewood from the NPCC room to the Prefects room, Faizzul said that we were like construction workers transporting materials from one point to another. Well, I just take it as a training for my Cadet Inspector (CI) course. We then went to push back the big green bin to the bin collection centre. To our surprise, when we reached the bin collection centre, there are still some more firewood, so Faizzul and I still went to transport the remaining wood back to the Prefects room. Well, this is the job for the people who are preparing for the campfire and its a tiring job. After the entire episode, Faizzul and I went back to NPCC room and continue to follow the rest of the NCOs. Around 12 plus, we then headed for home.

29th December:

There is nothing much happening on this day. I went back for NPCC training and the NCOs and cadets are practising for their Secondary One Orientation. Well, there were some hiccups in the beginning but its is being solved at the end. The Secondary Three cadets and the Secondary Four NCOs are able to complete their grand finale of the Secondary One Orientation. Cheers to them. Luckily there is no NPCC training on the next day or I will really drop dead.

30th of December:

There is nothing happening on this day. Have to rest early for the CI Course Day 0 Briefing on the next day.

Well, I shall end here. That is all of the day, stay tuned to my blog for the next entries. I know I blog this entry late again as the date on the post did not match with the date I posted this blog entry. Sorry. I have too many things to do for my CI Course. Below are the pictures of my CI uniform accoutrement's.

My peak cap without crest.

My peak cap with the crest on. Well, there is nothing happening in my life except I have been going back to school recently to help out with my NPCC Unit. As last week was their training on their preparation for the 2008 Secondary One Orientation, this week was their training on campcraft for their upcoming preliminary rounds of Campcarft Competition on the 15th and the 22nd of March, 2008. Well, hope my cadets are well prepared for the Campcraft Competition. Below are the events that occurred during 19th December to 23 December.

19th December and 20 December:

I went back to train my cadets on the campcraft competition. I trained them on the component on flag staff. It was fun and exciting and we practise it under competition conditions. The timing of the flagstaff for both boys and girls can be improved. I already told my cadets their timing and they promised to improve on their timing. Hope you all are able to do it as you all know that the timing is unacceptable for just one component of the campcraft. There is still the gadget and the tentage. Well, there is still training on the next week for campcraft. Hope you all will buck up. Believe in yourselves and have confidence, you all are able to win the Campcraft Competition. I think many cadets will know about the Mr Low's scolding? Hahax.

21st December:

I went to Home Team Academy (HTA) to collect my Cadet Inspector uniform. I went to the Home Team Academy (HTA) which is located in the Choa Chu Kang area early in the morning. My father took me there in the morning. When I was there in the morning, I see only 5 NPCC cadets including myself. So, I went in with them to the guard post at the Home Team Academy (HTA) entrance. We then sign in at the log book and the CISCO Auxiliary police officer from the Immigration Checkpoint Authority (ICA) gave us each a sticker to paste on our shirt so that they know we are visitors to Home Team Acaademy (HTA). They sticker bears the Home Team Academy (HTA) logo. After that we went to proceed to find the Everest room located inside the NPCC Block 12B in Home Team Academy (HTA). As all of us do not know where is the Everest room, we did a little exploration around the premises of NPCC Block 12B. Finally, we saw a few Cadet Inspectors (CIs) form the June 2007 batch of Cadet Inspectors (CIs). We went to approach them and they asked us to fall-in at 8am sharp. It was only 7.45am and then we just ask one of the Cadet Inspector (CI) about our doubts on the forms that we have to submit on that day itself. After we have finished asking questions, we went to fall-in. Then one of the Cadet Inspector (CI) asked us to do something useful as there is still some time for us. So, the whole lot of us gather around in a circle and we introduce ourselves to each and everyone of the future Cadet Inspector (CI). We discuss about our name, which school we come form and what are our purposes of becoming Cadet Inspector (CI).

Next, it is the time where we go to our respective stations to register ourselves. The first station is where the Cadet Inspectors (CIs) go through our Identity Card (IC) for our registration. The second station is where we have to submit our OC Endorsement Form, Medical Form and the GIRO form and the other forms like our NPCC membership, parents consent letter etc. The third station is where we have to select the size of our Cadet Inspector (CI) shirts. There are two different shirts. On is the round-neck t-shirt and the other is the collared polo dry-fit t-shirt. After we have gone through our three stations, we were asked to fall-in outside the Everest room. Then the females went to collect their uniform at the NPCC store, one level below the Everest room. The males went inside the Everest room for their lecture on their uniform etiquette. During the uniform etiquette lecture, we were asked to familiarise with the Cadet Inspector (CI) uniforms of both males and females from Full-Uniform to Half-Uniform to Mufti and lastly the Physical Training (PT) uniform. The high standards of all the different types of uniforms are expected from the Probationary Cadet Inspectors (PCIs) and the Cadet Inspectors hoped that we would bring back the same high standards to our unit.

After the lecture, we were asked to fall-in outside and we were being led to the NPCC store to collect our uniform. The females then came out from the NPCC store and they went to attend the lecture on the uniform etiquette. At the NPCC store, as there are too many boys, we were broken up into two groups to collect our uniform. We were asked to collect 2 sets of shirts, 2 sets of pants, 1 belt, our shoulder lapels, crest for our peak cap, 4 small buttons, 3 big buttons, 1 pair of black socks, our peak cap and lastly our zipper boots. After we collected our items, we were sent outside to put our items into our bag. Then the next group of boys went in to collect their uniform while we just sat down at the floor. Then one of the Cadet Inspector (CI) went to tell us that the CI course was to train thinking Cadet Inspectors and she told us to do something constructive. We then re-introduce ourselves to the rest of the boys as there were new people who has just joined us. We also exchange our email address with one another. After the other group of boys have collected their uniform, we were told to go back to the Everest room to put our stuffs down. Then all of us were told to fall-in back outside the room and we then have a simple drill session to refresh our memory.

After that all of us then went back into the Everest room. The course coordinator then brief us what is expected of us to bring during our Day 0 on the 1st of December, this coming Saturday. Well, there are many things which we have to remember. Like we have to remember our lecture on the uniform etiquette, things to do before the Day 0, Cadet Inspector (CI) course briefing etc. After the uniform collection, we prepared to go back home and we marched out of the Home Team Academy (HTA) compound to the end of the road at that big shelter walkway. We then make our way out to the entrance of Home Team Academy (HTA). I then went with 2 of my NPCC squad mates to the POLWEL shop located on the other side of the road to buy some stuffs. After that we went to take SMRT Bus 172 to Chua Chu Kang Bus Interchange. I then took an MRT ride from Chua Chu Kang to Jurong East and took Bus 335 back to school to train my cadets on their campcraft. After that I catch a ride from my father and went back home. That is all for the 21st of December.

22nd of December:

I went back to Home Team Academy (HTA) again as I have some problems with the OC Endorsement Form and my Medical Form. The process is the same as the day before. After I went to submit my forms, I went back home. Nothing much happen on that day.

23rd of December:

There is a prefect meeting today in the morning at 7am in the morning. I catch a ride from my father and reached school at about 6.30am in the morning. Then Mr Su went to brief the prefects about what he wants in the future for the prefects in the year 2008, he also discussed about the prefects camp in December. After that I went for my NPCC activity which is cycling to East Coast Park. It was an fun and enjoyable time at East Coast Park. To my surprise, Syahid Sir was there. Well, I chatted with him about his National Service (NS) life and he asked me about my Cadet Inspector (CI) course. After the cycling trip, we went back to school. Then because of Kai Yuan's big mouth, Syahid Sir went to give the cadets a series of exercises which consists of jumping jacks, squats, chicky butt etc. Each exercise must be done 20 times. After we are done, I went bowling with Nicholas, Yu Ting, Kai Yuan, Yong Shun, Pei Ling, Esley, Ching Loong, Nadhir, Faizzul, Hafizah, Aini. If I forget any of your names, please inform me. Then I went back home after that. That is all.

Well, that is the events that are happening on the 19th of November to 23rd of November. Actually, this post should be posted on the 23rd of November but I today then post up this blog entry as I am busy with my Cadet Inspector (CI) course stuffs. I hope I will post my blog entry earlier next time. Ok, for now I shall end my grandfather stories. Take good care, bye.

Got Nothing To Do After O' Levels

Hello everyone. I am really getting bored to tears at home after my O' Levels. There is nothing to do at home so I volunteered my time at school. Luckily, there are many things to be done at school or else I must as well rot at home.

First up, have to help my camp leaders to plan their camp as they are still inexperience at planning camps. I must be like a father and spoon-feed them with the planning. But I can say that my efforts had paid off well. They are more independent and start to have more initiative. They are also getting the groove of planning camps. Cheers to you all but remember that without hard work, there is no success. Keep up the good work, you all are able torun the camp well. Secondly, NPCC has also progress well, especially the OIC & AOIC. I can see that you two are having the qualities of being a leader. During the training on Wednesday, 14/11/2007, I can see that Hafizah is commanding her NCOs. Hafizah said: Azimah go take Secondary 1 attendance, Ching Loong go take Secondary 2 attendance. Wow, I am impressed. Esley also is doing quite good. Both of you all, keep up the good work and bring Yuhua NPCC a good name. Same for the rest of the NCOs, don't slack around doing nothing ar...Just kidding. I love the training as there are many things that the NCOs have planned for the next year, 2008 Secondary 1 Orientation. There is rifle drill, baton drill and fashion parade. I love the fashion parade for the PT-Kit section. In-Charge (ICs) for the fashion parade, keep up the good work. For the baton drill, it is also quite perfect already. However there is always someone who would forget the steps or she did not do the fancy baton drill with precision or co-ordination. CPL Tan Pei Ling, please practice it many times so that you would not forget your steps. This is not to criticize you but encouragement to do a good job. The ending for NPCC on Wednesday is very funny. The whole contingent after dismissal parade, they went marching out as a contingent from the NPCC room to the end of the school gate. It is a good practise to be carry out once in a while as this would familiarise the cadets with the strict standards of marching when they are at the Home Team Academy (HTA). Hahas..it was so fun. When everyone dispersed to go back home, I was waiting alone outside the school for my father to fetch me. Then there are 4 fellows from the PA crew for Graduation Night came out and they slauted me when I am in the car. These 4 people are Nicholas, Melvyn, Kilnton and Eugene. Thanks for the slaute but do it in school ok? Or else if there is any passer-by they might think otherwise. The last thing is my Graduation Day for tomorrow. I think that the turnout for tomorrow Graduation Night would be poor. There would be many empty spaces in the hall tomorrow. The reason for these is because the school hold the graduation at the school hall instead at of hloding it at a hotel. Well, I can understands the school's difficulty as for the past years when the school hold it in a hotel, some students did not pay up for the fee at the hotel so when the auditors came and chase the school for the money, the school has to pay for the students who did not pay. It was unfair for the school so they decide that the Graduation Night would not be held in a hotel anymore. Well, we should feel at least happy that our 2007 batch still have Graduation Night as the 2006 batch did not even have Graduation Night. Hope for the best tomorrow during the Graduation Night.

Well, I shall end my grandfather stories for now. I think this is the only entry that I have wrote so little about my life. Its getting late, it is 2.13am in the morning. I still got NPCC training and Graduation Night tomorrow. I shall got get some sleep as I still need the energy to wake up early in the morning at 6.30am and prepare for tomorrow NPCC training and graduation Night. I shall end here, good night and take care. Bye. Below are some pictures of the TELC childcare.

We got nothing to do. My GCE 'O' Level Examinations are officially over. I just finished my last paper yesterday and I went to The Experimental Learning Centre (TELC) with my juniors after my examinations. Well, it was quite fun at the childcare centre at the SIM University and I have certainly missed the place since I have not been there after last year event at the childcare. I had a fun time there yesterday and manage to catch up with the rest of the small kids over there. The students who went there to help for the annual graduating event are as follow: Guo Yin, Man Yu, Hafizah, Yu Ting, Aini, Raymond, Angella, Wei Sheng, Nithiya and Sharmille. Well, their graduating event is on this Friday, 9th Nov 2007. This reminds me of my graduation on next Friday, 16th Nov 2007 at school from 5pm to 7pm. Well, its been 4 years in my secondary school life and there are many unforgettable memories in these 4 years. Hope I can meet up with the rest of my friends after we graduate from this school.

Now lets see what are my comments for my O' Levels examination papers:

Science Practical Paper 5 - It is quite ok and easy. But some of the questions I may have doubts as the answers that I have gather from my friends are all different.

Pure Geography Paper 2 - The paper is doable. However as I only have 2h 15 mins, all my answers for the paper, especially the 7 marks questions, I have to force myself to super summarise the answers. The initial length of the answers should be around 1 page but I summarise it to about half the page. The requirements for us for this paper is that we have to answer 4 questions, each question is about 25 marks and it adds up to 100 marks. The 4 questions that we choose to answer must consists of 1 question from the physical geography section and 1 question from the human geography section. So, I went to take the combination of 3 physical geography questions and 1 human geography question. As my teacher did not teach us GNP and agriculture for the human geography as she wanted us to concentrate on the physical geography, I therefore take this combination of questions. I think I will not do well for this paper. Same goes for the rest of my classmates as they think that the way Cambridge phrase the questions are difficult to understand.

Combined Humanities History Paper 3 - It was quite an easy paper as my teacher has already help us to spot the topics for the O' Levels. She has spotted the topics on Chapter 5 - War in Europe, Chapter 6 - War in the Pacific and Chapter 10 - The Fall of the Communist Empire. But only 2 out of the 3 topics she has spotted came out. The topics are Chapter 6 and Chapter 10. So, I went to do my strongest topic which is Chapter 10. Well, the Source Based Question (SBQ) came out on Chapter 1 - Russia and the Soviet Union 1917-1941. The topic is on the Russian Civil War from 1918-1920. However, I still did not manage to complete my paper on time because of time constraints.

English Paper 1 - It was easy though. There were 5 questions for Section A and I choose Question 2 as the question allow me to apply my Pure Geography knowledge inside. The question on Question 2 is that "Nowadays, people live longer than ever before. What problems does this present and how can these problems be dealt with?". Actually, I have intended to choose Question 5 on Heros but I felt that Question 2 is easier to write. Section B is on writing a letter to your principal on deciding which building out of the 3 buildings given is suitable to be build in your school. So overall it is easy.

English Paper 2 - It is the same as Paper 1. The questions they asked are simple and straightforward. The passage they give us is also easy.

Mathematics Paper 1 - It is quite difficult and many of the questions they ask I did not know how to do. Maybe I did not have enough practice.

Mathematics Paper 2 - It is doable but some of the questions I still do not know how to do. Same as Paper 1, maybe I did not have enough practice.

Mother Tongue Paper 1 - I actually did not mention it on my last post as I have forgotten. It is quite easy.

Mother Tongue Paper 2 - I also did not mention it on my last post as I have forgotten. It is also quite easy.

Science (Physics/Biology) Paper 2 (Physics Paper) - It is quite easy. Most of the questions I know how to do but I have a few doubts about the questions I do not know how to do.

Science (Physics/Biology) Paper 4 (Biology Paper) - It is very easy. Most of the questions I know how to do as they test us mostly on the secondary 3 topics. The essay questions are easy.

Combined Humanities Social Studies Paper 1 - It is doable. However, the topic that I spotted, Good Governance did not come out. Instead they came out on Singapore's Population, Substaining Singapore Development and The Rise & Fall of Venice. In the end, I choose the question on Singapore's Population. The Source Based Question (SBQ) is on the nuclear crisis between India & Pakistan during 1998.

Science (Physics/Biology) Paper 1 (Physics and Biology 40 MCQ Questions) - It is very easy and I think I can score well in Paper 1.

Design & Technology Paper 1 - The paper is average but most of us still find it difficult as they asked us on the certain tools that we have never done the questions on them before. Overall, it is average.

Pure Geography Paper 2 - The paper is easier than the Paper 2. Manage to complete it on time.

This is the end of my comments and my analysis is that I should have study my examinations earlier so that I do not have to worry so much now and make myself so stress. Well, it is no use crying over spilt milk and I shall carry on with my life. Well, there are some things which we always regret after realising our mistakes. So it is better for us to realise our folly earlier than regret in the future. Well, regrets are unavoidable but we still have to carry on with life. Take it in stride and learnt from it and do not let history repeat itself again. Ok, shall blog until here. I will publish my post about my 73rd Cadet Inspector Basic Training Course (CIBTC) on the next post. Maybe it will be done later in the night. Ok, so for now ta ta, take care and good bye. Remember to check out the new music that I have just uploaded.

2007 Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level Examination Timetable

This would be my last post before I go for the O' Levels exams tomorrow, so this might be the longest post before I take my O' Levels. I might not be seeing all of my NPCC cadets & prefects from Secondary 1 to Secondary 3 as I will be busying preparing for my examinations and mugging throughout the night. Well, after my examinations I might come back to visit you all. Miss you all very much but the examinations will be over in a months time. Hope to see you guys after that. Here's the overview of the entire exam.
Date: Thursday 25/10/2007 - 1 Paper
Date: Friday 26/10/2007 - 1 Paper
Date: Saturday 27/10/2007 - Study English, Maths and Mother Tongue
Date: Sunday 28/10/2007 - Study English, Maths and Mother Tongue
Date: Monday 29/10/2007 - 3 Papers
Date: Tuesday 30/10/2007 - 1 Paper
Date: Wednesday 31/10/2007 - 2 Papers
Date: Thursday 01/11/2007 - Study Physics and Biology
Date: Friday 02/11/2007 - 2 Papers

Date: Saturday 03/11/2007 - Study Social Studies, Science (Physics/Biology), Design & Technology and Pure Geography
Date: Sunday 04/11/2007 - Study Social Studies, Science (Physics/Biology), Design & Technology and Pure Geography
Date: Monday 05/11/2007 - 1 Paper
Date: Tuesday 06/11/2007 - 2 Papers
Date: Wednesday 07/11/2007 - 1 Paper
Date: Thursday 08/11/2007 - Slack all the way already

Then after the 7th of November, Wednesday, it will be the end of my paper and everyone who are taking Pure Geography will be shouting like hell. We will go out to celebrate later in the afternoon after the examinations. But for the students taking Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry and Principles Of Accounts, they will end their paper on the 12th of November (Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry) and 13th of November (Principles Of Accounts) respectively. So work hard and strive hard. We will reap the benefits later if we study now.

For the Prefects and NPCC cadets, please listen to your Sec 3 seniors as they will be the ones leading you all after the Sec 4 step down. Do not give them unnecessary problems as when it comes to you taking over the organisation, you will encounter the similar problems. Maybe this is retribution or lesson for everyone to go through in the 4 years of their secondary school life. This is all that I can say for now. Maybe will come back to see you all after my O' Levels. I will be coming back for the prefects camp. But only will come from the second day onwards, in the afternoon as I will be returning from my 73th Cadet Inspectors Basic Training Course (CIBTC) at Pulau Ubin Camp site. I will update the 73rd Cadet inspectors Course information after my O'Levels.

For now, I shall revise my geography tonight as tomorrow is my examinations. I need to counter my weakness on writing so neat and slow during my examinations or I will surely lose out to the rest. All the best to me and my friends for the O' Levels and hope we will go to our choice of Juniors Colleges and Polytechnics. I shall end my Grandfather stories for now and concentrate on my O' Levels. I am already feeling so nervous for my tomorrow paper. Hope to do my best. That is all. Good night, bye.

I will wait for you. Will you do the same thing?
I've lost any chance for me to say
To say that I miss you, say that I love you
And now I'm regretting all I've done
But in your heart know that I'm with you all along
Wherever you go, I will be waiting
Whenever you call, I will be there
Whatever it takes, I'll make your darkest days so bright
I'm in your heart tonight.

Notice: Would Not Be Blogging For Up To 1 Month

Hi everyone. I am back again blogging as this might be the last time I blog before my O Levels in 2 days time. Well, the computer is in front of me every time I study and it is tempting me to use it. So, well I shall just post my second last post before I prepare for the showdown on the final battle which is my GCE 'O' Levels Examinations.

Well, these few days it has been raining and it was quite heavy. I have taken some pics of it. Will post it on some other day. Also heard about the news in which a new tension has broke out in the border of Turkey and Iraq. At least 12 Turkish soldiers have been killed following an ambush by Kurdish rebels near the Iraqi border - with 32 rebels also killed, officials say. The PKK guerrilla group claimed it had also taken "several" soldiers hostage, but this was denied by the government. This happened on last Saturday. Then on Monday, intense diplomatic efforts have continued to try to head off a major Turkish operation against fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the PKK, in northern Iraq. Western diplomats believe that Turkey will launch such an operation unless the United States can engineer some significant moves against the PKK. The latest PKK attack, near the village of Daglica on the Turkish side of the border with Iraq, killed 12 Turkish soldiers. Eight others are missing. This is the attack on Saturday. All these people really got nothing better to do. Must as well go and think of how to achieve world peace rather than fight with each other.

Here is another favourite song of mine, Gone So Young by Amber Pacific. Here is the lyrics:

AMBER PACIFIC LYRICS

"Gone So Young"

I never dreamt it'd be this way

I've lost any chance for me to say

To say that I miss you, say that I love you

Will someone please tell me I'm okay

I wasn't prepared for what's to come

A life made of memories gone so young

And now I'm regretting all I've done

But in your heart know that I'm with you all along

Wherever you go, I will be waiting

Whenever you call, I will be there

Whatever it takes, I'll make your darkest days so bright

I'm in your heart tonight

I never thought that this could go

And take me away from all I know

And leave me to think I'm on my own

But your love will take me, you were the one...

...Who sat through nights

You held me tight

And made sure I'm okay

And I thank you for the love you gave to me

Wherever you go, I will be waiting

Whenever you call, I will be there

Whatever it takes, I'll make your darkest days so bright

I'm in your heart tonight...

Well, shall put my GCE 'O' Level timetable up tomorrow. All the best and good luck for the chemistry students for their paper tomorrow. Good night, bye.

GCE 'O' Levels Science (Physics/Biology) Practical Exam

Today is my GCE 'O' Levels Science (Physics/Biology) Practical Exam Paper 5. The subject code 5153/05 and the duration of the practical exam was 1 hour 30 minutes. My shift was the 2nd shift and the paper starts at 1000 hours to 1130 hours. I came to school early in the morning to revise the practical topics which our teacher has prepared us during the lessons. Luckily I went to revise my practical papers or I will forget everything as we have not done any science practical since the science laboratory has closed for the preparation for our preliminary practical exams and the GCE 'O' Levels practical exams.

Finally, I can heave a sigh of relief as the paper has passed. Well, the paper was quite an easy one. The Biology practical was actually easier then the Physics practical. I thought that the examiners in Cambridge would test us on the food test but it turn out otherwise. There was no food test or any experiment to be done. No cutting of fruits or vegetables in the transverse section (T.S) and the longitudinal section (L.S). The paper just want us to answer the questions asked in the booklet. The first question was asking us to recognise an insect-pollinated flower and what are its features that makes it look like an insect-pollinated flower. They also ask us to identify the stigma, ovary wall and style of the flower and make a drawing about it. The second question was asking us to identify the specimens provided to us. It contains one seedling place in the dark for some time and another seedling place in the sun. Then they ask us to compare both flowers and write down 2 differences about it. The third question was asking us to use the science apparatus which they have shown us to draw and label, how are we going to use those science apparatus to test the oxygen level in the conical flask where there are broad beans. The last question was asking us to see a graph where they show two species of plant and how the seeds germination rate would increase when the temperature also increases. Then they ask us to write down 2 factors that must be kept constant in order for the experiment to work. This is all for the Biology practical. I pity the lab assistants as they set up the apparatus for us to conduct the food test but in the end it did not come out in the exam. Efforts are being wasted.

Now, lets move on to the Physics practical. It was testing us about the refraction in the glass block. The question ask us to place the glass block on the blank sheet of paper provided to us then draw the outline of the glass block. Then we have to draw out the normal and use a protractor to measure out 20, 30, 40, 50, 55 degrees respectively from the normal. We than have to draw a line with the angle of degrees given to us, passing through the normal to the end of the glass block. We than have to place the glass block back into the outline of the glass block, then we have to use 4 optical pins to poke through the line we drawn on the paper to the cardboard and look through the glass block to find the other point of the 2 optical pins. They also ask us to find the distance between the refracted line and the original line. We have to draw a line to the two points we find then record down the value and draw the graph. The question actually ask us to draw a best-fit curve or a line but I went to draw a line instead of a curve. After the practical exams I went to ask my teacher about the graph and she said that it should by a curve as the points shows a curve when i plotted the graph out. I think my practical exam for Physics would score badly already because of the graph and the graph cost me 5 marks. That means I have to score well for my Science Papers 1,2 and 4 in order to salvage the marks for my practical exams. The other questions they ask are whether the distance between the refracted line and the original line is directly proportionate to the angles, estimate the value of 10 degrees and why we cannot use the value of the 10 degrees in the graph. That is all from the Physics practical.

Well, this is the end of the entry for today. I might not be blogging for the next few weeks because of my GCE 'O' Levels Examinations. Just have to concentrate as my O' Levels will be over in a month time. So if I have the time, I will blog some entries. If not, just have patience and wait for a month. It will be over very soon. So, good luck for those taking the O' Levels and to myself. Strive hard and score good grades. Take care and bye.

Song Lyrics

Here is the second song lyrics:

Run by Snow Patrol:

I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done

And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder, louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbye
I nearly do

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder, louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

Slower, slower
We don't have time for that
All I want is to find an easier way
To get out of our little heads

Have heart my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

End of 2nd Song. I have been surfing for songs and two songs have attracted me to listen to it over and over again. The two songs are Sorry, Balme It On Me by Akon and Run by Snow Patrol. Here are the lyrics:

1st song: Sorry, Balme It On Me by Akon

As life goes on I'm starting to learn more and more about responsibility

And I realize that everything I do is affecting the people around me

So I want to take this time out to apologize for things that

I've done things that haven't occurred yet

and things that they don't want to take responsibility for

I'm sorry for the times that I left you home

I was on the road and you were alone

I'm sorry for the times that I had to move

I'm sorry for the fact that I did not know

That you were sitting home just wishing we

Could go back to when it was just you and me

I'm sorry for the times I would neglect

I'm sorry for the times I disrespect

I'm sorry for the wrong things that I've done

I'm sorry I'm not always there for my sons

I'm sorry for the fact that I'm not aware

That you can't sleep at night when I am not there

Because I'm in the streets like everyday

I'm sorry for the things that I did not say

Like how you are the best thing in my world

And how I'm so proud to call you my girl

I understand that there's some problems

And I'm not too blind to know

All the pain you kept inside you

Even though you might not show

If I can't apologize for being wrong

Then it's just a shame on me

I'll be the reason for your pain

And you can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

I'm sorry for the things that he put you through

And all the times you didn't know what to do

I'm sorry that you had to go and sell those bags

Just trying to stay busy until you heard from dad

When you would rather be home with all your kids

As one big family with love and bliss

And even though pops treated us like kings

He got a second wife and you didn't agree

He got up and left you there all alone

I'm sorry that you had to do it on your own

I'm sorry that I went and added to your grief

I'm sorry that your son was once a thief

I'm sorry that I grew up way to fast

I wish I would of listened and not be so bad

I'm sorry that your life turned out this way

I'm sorry that the feds came and took me away

I understand that there's some problems

And I'm not too blind to know

All the pain you kept inside you

Even though you might not show

If I can't apologize for being wrong

Then it's just a shame on me

I’ll be the reason for your pain

And you can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

Said you can put the blame on me

You can put the blame on me

I'm sorry that it took so long to see

But they were dead wrong trying to put it on me

I'm sorry that it took so long to speak

But I was on tour with Gwen Stefani

I'm sorry for the hand that she was dealt

And for the embarrassment that she felt

She's just a little young girl trying to have fun

But daddy should of never let her out that young

I'm sorry for Club Zen getting shut down

I hope they manage better next time around

How was I to know she was underage

In a 21 and older club they say

Why doesn't anybody want to take blame

Verizon backed out disgracing my name

I'm just a singer trying to entertain

Because I love my fans I'll take that blame

Even though the blame's on you

Even though the blame's on you

Even though the blame's on you

I'll take that blame from you

And you can put that blame on me

And you can put that blame on me

You can put that blame on me

You can put that blame on me

Yup, been busy with prelims and do not have much time to blog. The first reason is to talk about my prelims. The second reason is to update myself about the current news.

Here's the first reason. I already have my English & Mother Tongue Prelims before the September Holidays and remember how my friends and I went to chiong our D&T coursework until about 5.30pm. It was supposed to be handed in by 5pm. We own-self declared our dateline time. Haha...but its already over. Confirm failed the coursework already so must study hard for the written paper. Also had my Social Studies, Mathematics Paper 1, Science (Biology) Paper 4, Science (Physics) Paper 2 and my Geography Paper 1. Tomorrow's paper will be Science (Physics/Biology) Paper 1 and Mathematics Paper 2. Woah, tomorrow's maths paper confirm gone case liao. Maths Paper 1 already got so many questions dunno how to do. Wish for the best. Then on next monday will have History Paper, tuesday will have Geography Paper 2 and Design & Technology Paper and finally on wednesday will have the Science Physics & Biology Practical Paper in the morning and the prelims exams will finish. But still have to mugged for O'Levels. Luckily my practical in the morning but in the 1st shift from 8am to 9.45am. In that way I have to wait like crazy for the people of the 3rd shift to start at 12pm in the afternoon then I can leave. But never mind, must persevere to the end.

The second reason I blog is about the current affairs. First of all the earthquake in Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia. Well its an earthquake with the magnitude of 8.4 on Ritcher scale. Luckily, Singapore only felt tremors but several places in Singapore has been affected. Hmm...but my house did not feel the tremors. I feel so safe...haha. The second news is on the commemorating of the September 11 as it has been six years and the people of America are still devastated about the attack of the World Trade Center on both the North and South tower. People are also commemorating the United Flight 93 which crashed into one of the towers. The third news is about the United States President Mr George W. Bush will announce a plan to withdraw US troops level in Iraq tonight at around 0900 GMT (if I am not wrong). Well, the actual fact is that he will not withdraw US troops level unless he has see significant improvement in Iraq and he will keep sending more troops to help in national reconciliation in Iraq. Well, hope the president's decision is right or they will be repeating history again like the Vietnam War in the 1960s and many American soldiers have to fight a war which is not theirs and there will be many medals awarded to the soldiers who got Killed-In-Action (KIA). The Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden also got nothing better to do and create another series of video on asking US troops to get out of Iraq, asking Americans to convert to the religion on Islam and asking more young people to become martyrs. Recently, another latest video on him show that he has cut his beard and dye it black. There are also many other news like the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced his resignation yesterday, there is a bomb threat in the US air base in Germany, the Turkish police defuse a bomb under a mini-bus and the Russian President Vladimir Putin has choose his new candidate for his presidency for next year election. Well, this is all I have gathered.

Well, I shall stop here and will continue during the weekends. Hope to have the time to blog as there are still prelims going on. I shall stop my grandfather stories here and I will be signing off here. Will return during the weekends to blog. Bye!

Dunno why I missing you <^<oo>^> o0?

Happy National Day

Well, its been a long time ever since I blog. Have been reading what Param has been reading these few days after he recommended the book to me. Its about a book by the title of Destiny's Cries by a local author Low Kay Hwa. These book is very emotional and it almost wanted to make me cry when it came to the ending. The storybook if I am not wrong was been recommended by the author himself when we were having assembly during my sec 2 life in school. It is quite interesting and if anyone want to borrow the book just ask me.

My aim of blogging today is because of a few reasons. Firstly, it is to wish the nation HAPPY
42th Birthday Singapore. Every year, Singapore celebrates its birthday on the 8th of August as it has gained independence from the British on the 8th of August 1965(i don't remember the actual date). But never mind. Singapore was then on its own facing the threat of communism from Malaysia and how is it going to survive on its own. Well, indeed Singapore survive till today and it prove itself to be a developed, first world country from a background of a small fishing village and this year National Day Parade (NDP) theme was "City of Possibilities". In Singapore you would find that there are many possibilities which we could find be it opportunities for businesses or investments where Singapore is a "lauching pad" to many places in the world. Singapore also has a "First Class" Airport which is the the famous Changi Airport. Okok, enough on History Lessons.

Secondly, it is about updating myself with the current affairs and world news. I came across a few interesting news when I surf the net today. If you have been following the world news, recently there has been a crisis with the stock market. The major companies like Dow Jones Industrial etc. Its like a domino effect as when the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) crashed, the rest of the world's stock market will also crash. This affects several countries like Singapore, China, Hong Kong and the Asian countries. That is the first interesting news. The second interesting news is concerning the Russians. The Russians has been making themselves becoming the headlines these two weeks. Firstly the Russians has planted a Russian flag beneath the Arctic Ocean which they claim it is their territory. The Canadians were not excited about it and they will do something about it. The next thing which make them famous is that they ordered two Tu-95 heavy bomber planes to fly over the Pacific Island of Guam which alerted the Americans as they were having their war scenerio trainings there. It is obvious that they wanted to start the Cold War again like in the 1960s after the Cuban Missiles Crisis which lasted for 13 days. The Russians are really getting themselves in hot soup. The last piece of news which I saw is about the United Nations would expand its role in Iraq which would help the country to restore itself after the 2003 Iraq War. Under the new resolution, sponsored by the US and the UK, the UN will now be authorised to help the Iraqi government to promote national reconciliation and regional dialogue on issues such as border security, energy and refugees. It will also help settle disputes over internal boundaries - all tasks in which the US is seen to have failed so far in Iraq. Hope the US has made the right decision.

Lastly, I will update the story on the book "Destiny's Cries" on my blog on some other day. Hope it will make an impact on everyone. So, I am signing off from here. Sorry for late post.

A tiring day for everyone

Hi everyone out there. It was quite a tiring day today for all the NPCC cadets and band members. Well, for the band members, after 5 days of camping in school, they must be dog-tired. For the prefects in the band, if you think that you will not be able to come for the 14th of June, Thursday Amazing Race then hope you all will just give the excos a call to inform us that you are not going. We need to confirm the number of people going. Hope you all have a good rest tonight.
Well, for the NPCC Cadets & Junior NCOs, I too knew that we have a tiring day today. The junior NCOs, you have have done a good job today by clearing the NPCC Room. The NPCC Room was cleared within 1 day and we found many unwanted "treasures" in the room. Still remember that we have cleared the cupboards in the room. One of it was filled with a pungent smell as there was a mixture of flour with water and some other "stuff" inside the plastic bag of flour. The plastic bag of flour was badly decomposed and thus diffusing off a pungent smell. My 5 drill canes and its drill cane's cover are all being polluted by the pungent smell. There are many more other stuff which are inside the "polluted" cupboard are also being contaminated. In the end, we cleared the cupboard with Hafizah's air freshener and we have to spray a couple of times before the smell was being "controlled". Then the junior NCOs went to removed the stuff from the "polluted" cupboard before throwing the cupboard away. Then Aini, Zi Jie, Faizzul and I went to dump the "polluted" cupboard at the worker's quaters at the back of the Home Econs kitchen. By the our mission was then accomplished and we returned to the NPCC Room to clear more stuff. At a point of time, Aini was being scared off by a lizard which was hiding behind another cupboard and she scream her head off. Hahahas...we all have a good time laughing. By the end of lunch time most of the room has been cleared and mopped then we went to put back our things properly. Well, most of the Sec2 and Sec1 cadets has been tryng hard to perfect the movements/steps of the performance. I could see it without anyone telling me, however, it is still not up to the juniors NCOs' standard. Never mind cadets, do not be disheartened as there is a saying goes "Pratice makes perfect" so try to work on it. Although these performance are for my Passing-Out-Parade (POP) and I actually must not go and attend the NP trainings for my POP, but I would like to say that I would take it that I have not seen these performances before and I will see the perfect performances during my POP. Psst...I actually went to peek at the fancy baton drill and the skit but never mind...Hahahas...
Finally, I would be looking forward to tomorrow Amazing Race (actually not tomorrow as it is already tomorrow and there are a few more hours to go). Hope that there will be a lot of prefects comming, however I still think that I am pinning on false hopes as there will not have manny people coming for the Amazing Race.

First time as a blogger

Yeah, well its my first time being a blogger. Still have many things to explore and build up on my blog. Well maybe asking my friends who are so use to blogging will help me improve on my blog. So, friends outta there please give me comments on how should I improve on my blog. Well it's always the same thing for anyone who have blogs for the first time. I guess so.
Well, I guess I will talk about myself first. Let me give you all a brief introduction about myself. I am a normal 16-year-old boy from a neighbourhood school by the name of yuhua. Its my last year in this school so have many unforgettable memories about this school. I am in the CCA of National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) and have risen from the rank of private to staff sergeant. I am the Overall-In-Charge (OIC) in my own CCA. I am in charge of all the operations and management in my own unit. Oh, forget to say that I belong to the NPCC Yuhua Unit of Area 17. Well, its hard job managing my NCOs and my cadets, however I would still try my best to ensure that my NCOs and cadets have Basic Discipline at all times. Well, might be considering about accepting to attend the Cadet Inspectors Basic Training Course (CIBTC). When I attend this CIBTC, I will be its 73th Batch of Cadet Inspector and will have to go back to my alma mater which is now my current secondary school yuhua to serve for 2 years. Woahhh......the rank on my shoulder will become from 2 "crabs" and 6 "chocolate bars" to 2 "diamonds/pips". The rank on my shoulder will be so heavy. Hahahaha......just joking.Well, hope to wear the NPCC First Uniform for the next year 2008 Speech Day so that I could wear my first uniform with my sword. Haiz....time flies so quickly. Still have vivid memories about the time when I was still a private in NPCC when I was in Sec1. I was so "blur" like a sotong when I make many mistakes. Come to think of it, I also do not know why I make these mistakes. Well, hope that I could now carry on the NPCC name by training my cadets to be the "Builders of a safe and secure home". As the motto on the back of the Honorary Officers' (HO) shirt "To Mould The Builders Of A Safe And Secure Home", I will try my very best to uphold the NPCC organisation.
Enough about NPCC, now lets talk about the Prefectorial Board in Yuhua. I am the Head Prefect of the prefectorial board. Its heavy responsibilities for me as I have to also make sure that my prefects are the role models of the school. Well, its a tough job and also a challenging one for me when I have accept to take up this post and choose this path. I am happy that I could make my prefects and my NPCC cadets understand what is the meaning of "sense of urgency", basic discipline, initiative etc. Well although there are many obstacles lying in front of me in the prefectorial board and the NPCC organisation, I will still face it bravely and to accept the challenges that are being posted in front of me. I hope that my prefects and my NPCC cadets will learn that it is not easy being a leader and you have to strive hard in order to get it. Although some of you people always like to give us "attitude" now, like to give your seniors/excos a lot of problems, but the next time when you have become a leader, you will surely have the same experience as us and you would also be in a dilemma/predicament. This is the "retribution" for showing us "attitude now". So, if you change for the better, you might be able to understand why it is so hard being a perfect leader and how would you be able to change your cadets/juniors perspectives or point of views on showing "attitude". Its a long to go for you guys outta there. Well, u guys out there might be thinking I am chanting mantra like an old woman who always nags, however these are all good learning points to learn from and build up your leadership qualities. Take these advices as "pearls of wisdom" dropping out from my mouth.
Finally, I hope that my prefects and NPCC cadets will try your utmost to be the best in everything and maintain the discipline standards which I have set in both the prefectorial board and NPCC organisation. Hope it would not fall on deaf ears or "one ear go in, one ear come out". Well, hope that you people would take into consideration on what I have just written in my blog. Especially to my sec3 Excos Hafizah, Aini, Shahidah, Irfan, both junior and senior prefects, OIC Esley, AOIC Hafizah, future NCOs and cadets from all levels. Note: This is not just an ordinary blog, it is a blog with advises. Signing off here by the Head Prefect and the OIC of NPCC Yuhua Unit Area 17. Missing you very much, not very much of sleep this few nights. Here Without You
